Rondo Media has won a substantial contract as part of a recent S4C tender to produce Welsh language programmes and content for young people.
The focus will be on comedy, drama and entertainment. Rondo is confident that this new output will appeal to younger audiences and will attract new viewers to S4C.
Winning the contract strengthens Rondo’s expertise in producing popular drama series such as Rownd a Rownd and Amdani.
Chairman of Rondo Media, Robin Evans said :” This is good news, not only for Rondo, but also for the TV industry in north Wales. The three year contract will enable us as a company to recruit fresh, new talent in all fields of production, from producing, writing, editing and technical expertise.”
Gareth Williams, CEO of Rondo added :”This investment by S4C will safeguard jobs in the creative sector in the north and will enable Rondo to nurture and develop new talent whilst also developing the skills that already exist in the fields of drama, comedy and entertainment.” |

Rondo Media is to produce a BBC1 daytime drama starring Sanjeev Bhaskar as high-flying immigrant doctor who finds himself working in 1960s Wales.
The 5 x 45 minute series focuses on the Asian doctors who came to Britain following an invitation by then health minister, Enoch Powell.
"We wanted to celebrate the immigrant contribution to the NHS," said Rondo Media producer, Tom Ware.
"It's still the case that more than 70% of doctors in the Welsh valleys are immigrants or British Asians."
The series, a co-production between Rondo Media and Avatar, will air in the autumn and will feature as part of a week-long series of factual programmes by the BBC looking at social changes during the decade. |
